CHILDREN’S BOOKS NEEDED:
Please donate any appropriate children’s books to our Food Pantry. They are available to our clients during the summer months and we are running critically low. Donations can be left outside the food pantry.
FOOD PANTRY REPORT
The food distribution continues to grow. We have served over 200 families in recent weeks. Our needs are also increasing. Some ways that you can help out are with foods that serve as meal-stretchers: oatmeal packets, cereal, 4 pack servings of fruits, spaghetti and pasta, canned tuna and chicken. We also appreciate the paper bags with handles and the plastic bags that have been coming in. Please also consider giving an hour of your time some Wednesday between 9 a.m. - 12 noon. A variety of “jobs” are available. Experience on the computer to register our clients is another way you can help your food pantry. Thank you, too, for your financial support.
UMCOR SYRIA AND TURKEY RELIEF:
Please join UMCOR in prayer for the many people affected by these devastating earthquakes, including the rescue crews seeking survivors and those caring for the injured and displaced. Support relief and recovery efforts for this and other international disasters by donating to Advance # 982450. Please put “SYRIA/TURKEY” on your check or envelope when making offerings. Further information can be found at https://umcmission.org/news-statements/umcor-response-to-earthquakes-in-turkey-and-syria/
AFGHAN REFUGEES IN NEED:
Our Afghan refugees have moved and any monetary donations will be greatly appreciated.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE
Our prayers are constant and urgent for the Ukrainian people. The best way to provide financial support is to contribute through the Global Ministries Advance for Eurasia and designate your gift for Ukrainian Assistance. Please put “Ukrainian Assistance” on your check or envelope when you make offerings. So far we have donated $1,575! Let’s keep it up!
HANDYMAN WORK NEEDED?
Thomas Taylor is looking for any Handyman work in the area. Please contact him at (804) 304-7233.
