CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE
Our prayers are constant and urgent for the Ukrainian people. Many of you have asked about the ways to help the people of Ukraine and to support our United Methodist witness in Ukraine. Bishop Khegay in Eurasia said that the best way to provide financial support is to contribute through the Global Ministries Advance for Eurasia and designate your gift for Ukrainian Assistance. Following is a link to the Eurasia Advance information: https://advance.umcmission.org/p-191-eurasia-in-mission-together-russia-and-belarus.aspx. Please put “Ukrainian Assistance” on your check or envelope when you make offerings. We will send the fund to Eurasia Advance.
FOOD PANTRY REPORT:
Your Food Pantry has had a record number of people requesting food in the past two weeks. On August 24, we served 171 households (490 individuals). The week prior, we served 142 households (385 individuals). We continue to need donations of soft toothbrushes, canned fruit, vegetables and tuna. We also need plastic bags and paper bags with handles. Volunteers are always welcome.
ROOM NEEDED:
Pamela Ausberry is looking to rent a room in the Ginter Park area. She has no affiliation with GPUMC but asked if we could spread the word. Her phone number is 804-572-7023 if you have any recommendations.
PHONE FOUND:
The lawn service found a phone in the grass this past week. If this is your phone please see Anne Durrett or Dale Lipke.

We are trying to update our contact information to make certain we can get things like the newsletter and giving statements to each of you. Please take a moment to make sure we have up to date email and snail mail addresses.
