REMEMBERING ALL SAINTS
THE CANDLE LIGHTING AND NAMING OF SAINTS
God of the Saints, we give you thanks, O God, for every saint who ever worshiped you. Whether in brush arbors or cathedrals, weathered wooden churches or crumbling cement meeting houses.
Where your name was lifted and adored, where your scriptures were studied, your people served.
We give you thanks, O God, for centuries of hands in service: hands groomed, hands stained with grease or soil, young hands, hands marked with age. Holy hands of every shade raised in praise, serving hands that cooked, hammered, and held. We give you thanks, O God, for hardworking saints; Whether hard-hatted or steel-booted, head ragged or aproned, blue-collared or three-piece-suited. They ministered on the earth for you, for us, for our children to come. We give your thanks, O God, for saints in a season of pandemic family and friends whose love was taken from us too soon, caregivers of every kind who put our safety before theirs, employers and landlords who gave us steady wages and roofs over our heads, cooks and drivers that kept us fed and stocked. So, in gratitude for the gifts of these saints we take a moment to name them before you, and the body of Christ, claiming their lives as a gift to the church:

CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE
Our prayers are constant and urgent for the Ukrainian people. Many of you have asked about the ways to help the people of Ukraine and to support our United Methodist witness in Ukraine. Bishop Khegay in Eurasia said that the best way to provide financial support is to contribute through the Global Ministries Advance for Eurasia and designate your gift for Ukrainian Assistance. Following is a link to the Eurasia Advance information: https://advance.umcmission.org/p-191-eurasia-in-mission-together-russia-and-belarus.aspx. Please put “Ukrainian Assistance” on your check or envelope when you make offerings. We will send the fund to Eurasia Advance. As of June 30, $1575 has been sent to the conference for Ukraine.
GPUMC BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER IS GOING ON THROUGH NOVEMBER 14th!
Please pray everyday at 10:10 a.m. and 10:10 p.m.
God of resurrection power and possibility, send your Holy Spirit to: Breakthrough, renew, revive, and grow Ginter Park United Methodist Church. Release us from our worldly fears and remind us that You are with us always. Unleash Your vision for our new beginning in the life of our church and the community around us so that we continue to make and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ who serve the community and the world. Open our hearts to Your vision upon us and open our doors to embrace all Your children as they are. Help us faithfully listen for Your plan and act with Your love. Renew our excitement to follow Your way of light, love, and truth. Wake us up to the tangible possibilities ahead, and move in us to make them happen, for You Lord, not for us. By Your spirit of grace, clothe us, form us, and sustain us, so that we may bear the fruit of Your perfect love to the glory of the resurrected Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
FOOD PANTRY REPORT:
We serve on average 140 households. We continue to need donations of soft toothbrushes, canned fruit, vegetables and tuna. We also need plastic bags and paper bags with handles. Volunteers are always welcome.
