COVID Vaccine

Our church will again sponsor a COVID vaccination clinic in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health. This clinic will be held in our parking lot during the food pantry time from 10 AM until Noon on Wednesday, November 24th. Our church will provide $10 Walmart gift certificates to all who receive the vaccine. Please encourage all who have not yet received the vaccine or those who now qualify for a booster shot to avail themselves of this opportunity to help eliminate this COVID pandemic.

FINANCE/CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING:

Wednesday, November 10 with Finance beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by Church Council at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.

GPUMC COVID-19 RESPONSE

As COVID-19 cases surge due to the Delta variant, Ginter Park United Methodist Church is now requiring everyone over two years of age whether fully vaccinated or not to wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose in the church building. Disposable masks will be available to anyone that needs one. We will continue to do what is necessary to protect everyone’s health. Thank you for your cooperation!

FOOD PANTRY:

Your food pantry served an average of 125 households (372 individuals) each week in October. 

URGENT NEED:

The Food Pantry urgently needs paper bags with handles. Please drop them off outside the Food Pantry door.

Thank you Liz Turner for organizing and leading our Pumpkin Patch for yet another year! Your hard work and dedication has been an inspiration to us all! We’d also like to thank all the volunteers who came out to help with making this ministry a success! This has been a banner year and we have made well over last year’s sales. Keep an eye out for our grand total in next week’s bulletin.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:

Please make our food pantry part of your Thanksgiving plans. The pantry needs canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned soup, pasta, pasta sauce, cereal and paper grocery bags with handles. You may place your food donations in the box that will be available in the narthex. Thank you for your support.

RECYCLE BINS

Recycle bins are available in the Narthex. If you do not need your bulletin do not throw it away but please place it in the recycle bins. Thank you!

UMW

The United Methodist Women will be ordering pecans again this year freshly harvested from Georgia. You may purchase a bag for $11.00. Please see or call Beth Quist for your order (804-266-3164). These are large, fresh and very good!

ADVENT CANDLE LIGHTING:

Pastor MiRhang needs four families or individuals who will light the Advent candles for four Sundays - Nov. 28, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, and Dec. 19. Please let the church office know if you or your family would like to participate.
