ONLINE WORSHIP SERVICE

FINANCE AND CHURCH COUNCIL:

Finance and Church Council will meet this Wednesday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Zoom instructions will be emailed with instructions to all committee members.

LECTORS, CRUCIFERS, ACOLYTES NEEDED:

If you would like to volunteer to read the scripture or serve as crucifers or acolytes during the 11:00 a.m. worship service please put your name on the calendar located outside the Church Office. We kindly ask you to sign up no more than once a month so that we have diverse voices and presence in worship.

LENTEN DEVOTIONALS

There are devotionals available which are supplied at no cost by the Society of Saint Andrew. These are wonderful devotionals provided to guide our Lenten journey with Jesus. They are available in the narthex and on the table by the door at the front of the Sanctuary leading to the Parlor.

PASTOR’S BIBLE STUDY – THE BOOK OF ROMANS

Pastor MiRhang invites you to the 4-Session Bible Study on the book of Romans. We plan to provide in-person and/or Zoom options based on registration.
Please register at the church office by March 14th.

Zoom: Tuesday at 7:00 PM (March 22, 29, April 5, and 12)
In-Person: Wednesday at noon. (March 23, 30, April 6, and 13)

More plans for Holy Week will be announced later.

AFGHAN REFUGEE IN NEED:

Laundry Detergent, Toilet Papers, Napkins, Toiletries, Diapers (size 5), Girls’ Shoes (size 6), Girls’ Shoes (size 7), Boys’ Shoes (size 7), Gift cards – Visa, Food Lion, Target, Walmart, Uber, Lyft. Donations are welcome. Please put “Refugee Fund” on your check or envelope when you make offerings.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Rev. Roy Quist, Minister of Visitation, will be out of the office until mid March. If you have any visitation needs please contact the Church Office.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE

Our prayers are constant and urgent for the Ukrainian people. Many of you have asked about the ways to help the people of Ukraine and to support our United Methodist witness in Ukraine. Bishop Khegay in Eurasia said that the best way to provide financial support is to contribute through the Global Ministries Advance for Eurasia and designate your gift for Ukrainian Assistance. Following is a link to the Eurasia Advance information: https://advance.umcmission.org/p-191-eurasia-in-mission-together-russia-and-belarus.aspx.  Please put “Ukrainian Assistance” on your check or envelope when you make offerings. We will send the fund to Eurasia Advance.

GPUMC COVID-19 RESPONSE

As COVID-19 cases surge, Ginter Park United Methodist Church is now requiring everyone over two years of age whether fully vaccinated or not to wear a mask that covers both the mouth and nose in the church building. Disposable masks will be available to anyone that needs one. We will continue to do what is necessary to protect everyone’s health. Thank you for your cooperation!

FOOD PANTRY REPORT:

Your food pantry served an average of 140 households each week. As always, volunteers are welcome. Paper grocery bags with handles are needed as are donations of dry cereal.

Offering Totals

  • Year to date offering income for January: $42,729.80
  • Year to date expenses for January: $22,142.00

WORK DAY:

The Side Door Worship Team has been working to make the Social Hall a proper worship space. We would like to have help from our church family to complete the necessary work. We have scheduled Sunday, March 6 and Sunday, March 20 as workdays. A pizza lunch will be provided. Please be on the lookout for the March Newsletter with specifics as to what needs to be done.

NEEDED:

Crew length warm socks, gloves and stocking caps for both men and women. The Dollar Tree has great ones in stock right now. Please drop off your donations to the Church Office.
