MAUI FIRE RELIEF
UMCOR is coordinating with the California-Pacific Annual Conference to provide a solidarity grant for emergency supplies.
While our best response at this time is prayer and giving, United Methodists in Hawaii are at work caring for their communities, even in their own grief, separation, and great loss.
Gifts can be made to UMCOR through any United Methodist church or at https://umcmission.org/advance-project/901670/
WHAT’S YOUR PASSION?
At the All Church Meeting last Sunday we discussed how everyone can get involved by discovering their passion and how it can help our Church grow. Our current need is for someone to help with a Visitation team composed of Marlene Otto (who will cook treats) and Anne Durrett (who will provide a handmade ceramic plate to put the treats on). We now need someone to deliver these treats to visitors within 48 hours of their visit. We also are in need of someone to work with Ginter Park Elementary School in assisting them with any needs they may have with the new school year coming. Please contact the Church Office if you are interested in helping with these ministries.
WRITE TO SHIRLEY
Shirley Overstreet recently fell and broke her leg. Her memory is deteriorating these days, and she cannot read sermons or long letters. However, she takes pleasure in opening cards sent by people. Pam is kindly requesting our church members to send cards to her as she undergoes recovery at a new facility, where she is experiencing feelings of loneliness.

CHILDREN’S BOOKS NEEDED:
Please donate any appropriate children’s books to our Food Pantry. They are available to our clients during the summer months and we are running critically low. Donations can be left outside the food pantry.
FOOD PANTRY REPORT
The food pantry always needs additional volunteers to work from 9:30 until noon on Wednesdays. Especially needed are volunteers who can enter clients’ personal data into a laptop computer. The number of clients served each week during averages around 180 households or 480 individuals. Please remember this ministry and contribute paper bags with handles, canned fruit, canned vegetables, tuna, cereal, peanut butter, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce and books for children. There are receptacles located in front of the office, in the Narthex and downstairs outside the Social Hall for non-perishable food items.
UMCOR SYRIA AND TURKEY RELIEF:
Please join UMCOR in prayer for the many people affected by these devastating earthquakes, including the rescue crews seeking survivors and those caring for the injured and displaced. Support relief and recovery efforts for this and other international disasters by donating to Advance # 982450. Please put “SYRIA/TURKEY” on your check or envelope when making offerings. Further information can be found at https://umcmission.org/news-statements/umcor-response-to-earthquakes-in-turkey-and-syria/
AFGHAN REFUGEES IN NEED:

CONTRIBUTIONS TO SUPPORT UKRAINE
Our prayers are constant and urgent for the Ukrainian people. Please put “Ukrainian Assistance” on your check or envelope when you make offerings. So far we have donated $1,575! Let’s keep it up!
