Missions & Ministries
There are many ways to worship and do God’s work at GPUMC! Here’s your invitation to participate!
To volunteer for any of these ministries, please CONTACT US. Please note which area of ministry you would like to help us with.
Food Pantry:
Our Food Pantry is open from 10am to 12noon on Wednesday mornings. We offer coffee to our clients as well as some basic provisions for the week.
We need volunteers to help serve our clients. We especially need volunteers on the second Wednesday of each month, to unload the USDA donation off the truck. Please arrive at 8am for that job!
Paper Grocery Bags with Handles – We are always in need of paper bags with handles! They can be found at Kroger, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. We also take plastic grocery bags to contain meats and produce, as well as reusable grocery bags.
Food Donations Needed – We are thankful for your kind donations! Acceptable items to donate are canned fruits, vegetables & meats, such as tuna, chicken or ham; other canned items such as ‘family sized’ soups, stews, pasta sauces, ravioli & other meals. Please refrain from glass containers, and be mindful of expiration dates.
Please leave all donations outside the Food Pantry on the first floor of the Education Building as you enter from the Side Door. Thank you!
Clothing Closet:
Clothes Closet is open during Food Pantry hours for clients to shop for free clothing & accessories! Everything is clean, in good condition and ready to wear. We have styles for men, women, children and “back to work”, for all seasons! Donations can also be left outside the Food Pantry.
Shalom Farms:
The mission of Shalom Farms is to work with communities to ensure access to healthy food and the support to lead healthy lives. Read More.
