Serve one another

PASTOR APPRECIATION SUNDAY

We will celebrate our pastors, Rev. Dennis Lipke and Rev. Natalia Shulgina today with a reception between the two services located outside the church office. Please take a moment to let the pastors know how much you appreciate all they do at Ginter Park United Methodist Church.

CHURCH FAMILY DAY ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10th AT JOHN’S FARM

Everyone is invited to John Thompson’s farm in Disputanta, VA. We will leave the church at 9 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. We will provide transportation for those who need it. The day will consist of hayrides, fishing, hiking and enjoying our time together. The church will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks. Please bring a side dish to share. Please sign up through the church office or on the clipboard available at both services.

The UMW would like to invite you to join us in collecting school supplies for United Methodist Family Services(Charter School) until our November 6 meeting. Thank you for any donations you may be able to provide. A collection box is located underneath the table next to the office. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 6 (election day) for our next UMW business meeting at 10:00am followed by a program with Ginter Park children. Bring sandwich. Dessert and drinks provided.

FOOD PANTRY AND CLOTHES CLOSET

Your Food Pantry and Clothes Closet continues to serve those in need in our community. During September, our Food Pantry served 121 households which included 359 individuals. Our needs for the next few weeks include the following:

Paper Grocery Bags with handles – Our supply of these bags is low. If you will bring your grocery bags to church (and collect them from friends and neighbors), it will help us to meet our needs without having to purchase them at a cost of 15-1/2 cents each.

Food for Thanksgiving – We would like to provide our clients with some extra food during November that they can use to make their Thanksgiving meal more special. Canned goods including corn, carrots, cranberries and pumpkin and other items such as jars of gravy, packets of instant mashed potatoes, and boxes of muffin, corn bread or cake mix.

Winter Coats – With the coming of cold weather, our clothes closet could use some winter coats for women, men and children so, as you change over your closets from Summer to Winter clothes, consider donating some of your gently used coats and other winter clothing to our clothes closet.

All donations may be left outside of the Burchette Room on the first floor of the Educational Building. Thank you for your support of these mission opportunities.
