TITHES AND OFFERINGS
We are so grateful to each of you for your faithful support of Ginter Park UMC and all our ministries. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you most sincerely. At our recent Finance Committee meeting it became clear that we are struggling to meet our operating expenses. Our Financial Secretary has indicated that we have fallen about $16,000 behind in pledges over the summer months. If possible, please try and catch up so that we do not have to borrow from our Endowment Fund. Once again, our deepest gratitude for what you do.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
Our next gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2, at 10:00am for meeting followed by program. Lunch will be provided. If you have not turned in your UMW pledge for 2019, please bring to meeting. The UMW would like to invite you to join us in collecting school supplies for United Methodist Family Services (Charter School) until our November 6th (Election Day) meeting. Thank you for any donations you may be able to provide. A collection box is located underneath the table next to the office.
FOOD PANTRY NEEDS
Your food pantry's supply of paper grocery bags with handles is extremely low. This past week we had to purchase a supply of 250 bags at a cost of 15-1/2 cents each. Our allotment of USDA canned goods has decreased over the past couple of months so are having to purchase canned goods as well. You can help us conserve our limited funds by bringing your paper grocery bags with handles to the church and ask your friends and neighbors to save theirs’ for you. We can also use plastic bags and canned goods (except green beans and tomato sauce – the only canned good for which we are adequately stocked). Donations may be left outside of the food pantry (Burchette Room) door on the first floor as you come in from the parking lot. We are currently serving approximately 60 needy families per week from our food pantry and clothes closet.
Our next Yard Sale is October 6, 2018 from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. Selling spots are only $10 each! Vendors, please call 262-8651. We look forward to seeing you there. Come out and support GPUMC! Tell your friends, neighbors, and everyone you meet. Now’s a good time to clear your attic and garage! Nothing to sell? Come and buy! Please spread the word. If you can help with this, please contact Mary Swing at the Church (262-8651).
