Stan Hargraves is a clergy member of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church currently serving as the Registrar and United Methodist Advisor at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He is the author of Telling the Story: The Gospel in a Technological Age. He has taught masters level classes in evangelism and the use of technology in ministry as well as led workshops for local churches, denominational events and training seminars for pastors, Christian Educators and leaders in the church. Prior to coming to Union he served 16 years in parish ministry and seven years as the Director of Program Development for The Center for Ministry and Leadership Development at Union Presbyterian Seminary. Stan is certified as a Minister of Christian Education. He is also an adjunct professor at Richard Bland College where he has taught religion courses since 1998. He is a member of the National Association of Church Business Administration, The Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and The Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Stan received his Bachelor’s degree from Emory and Henry College, Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, and Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary. He and his wife Diane have two adult children.


Thank you so much to all who gave to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund to assist with the cost of repairing our refugee Zahra Hussein Ali’s car. The cost was $676.10 and we have received $250 towards this expense. Without an operating vehicle, Zahra is unable to get to work and therefore has no income. Thank you!


Welcome back to Fall UMW meeting on September 4 at 10:00 a.m. followed by program and lunch! Bring sandwich! Drinks and dessert provided!

  • Plastic Bags
  • Canned Goods - Vegetables (except green beans and tomato sauce which we will be supplied by USDA), Fruit and Tuna.

Our prayers are with the family of Jenny Ledford who passed on 8/8/19 (nephew’s aunt to Liz Turner), Joyce Roberts, Uncle Larry Duncan, and his wife, Aunt Brenda (Family to Liz Turner), Michelle Ludlow (client of Mary Liz Kehoe), Judy Wilkinson, Jane Whitlow, Ed Walton (Joyce Roberts’ son), Cindy White, Ron Davis, Jennifer Maitland, Isabelle Brown, Michelle Stoll.

On Sept 9th, during both worship services, we will observe Christian Education Sunday and the Blessing of the Backpacks. This is a chance for prayers to be given to all educators and students as they embark on a new school year.
