Richmond District Churches

The Dillard Forum at Trinity UMC, 903 Forest Avenue, Richmond, 23229 welcomes the Rev. Tom Berlin on Sunday, November 11 @ 7 PM and Monday, November 12 @ 12 noon and 7 PM.  Rev. Berlin will talk about UMC at a Crossroads. He will lead us in considering not only the possibilities of what may happen at the special session of the General Conference in February 2019, but even more the questions beneath the possibilities over issues of inclusion of LGBTQ persons in the United Methodist Church. These questions are also relevant for faithful Christians of all traditions and indeed for all persons interested in the relationship between faith, culture, and justice. If you plan to attend the session at 12 noon on Monday, November 12, we ask that you call Trinity at 804-288-6056 to reserve a lunch.

TAI CHI FOR SENIORS

Tai Chi meets in the Social Hall every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.. The old-timers and any new-comers are welcome!

FOOD PANTRY AND CLOTHES CLOSET

Your Food Pantry and Clothes Closet continues to serve those in need in our community. During September, our Food Pantry served 121 households which included 359 individuals. Our needs for the next few weeks include the following:

Paper Grocery Bags with handles – Our supply of these bags is low. If you will bring your grocery bags to church (and collect them from friends and neighbors), it will help us to meet our needs without having to purchase them at a cost of 15-1/2 cents each.

Food for Thanksgiving – We would like to provide our clients with some extra food during November that they can use to make their Thanksgiving meal more special. Canned goods including corn, carrots, cranberries and pumpkin and other items such as jars of gravy, packets of instant mashed potatoes, and boxes of muffin, corn bread or cake mix.

Winter Coats – With the coming of cold weather, our clothes closet could use some winter coats for women, men and children so, as you change over your closets from Summer to Winter clothes, consider donating some of your gently used coats and other winter clothing to our clothes closet.

All donations may be left outside of the Burchette Room on the first floor of the Educational Building. Thank you for your support of these mission opportunities.
